Kaindy lake
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kaindy Lake is an unusual lake in Kazakstan, located 320 km from the city of Almaty, 2000 meters above sea level. Created by the result of an enormous limestone landslide, the lake is 400 meters long and almost 30 meters deep. The track to Kaindy lake has many scenic views to the Saty Gorge, the Chilik river valley and the Kaindy gorge. The dried-out trunks of submerged picea schrenkiana trees rise above the surface of the water like masts of a sunken ship.
