[edit] History
Its members are Homayoun Majdzade on Lead guitar, Ardavan Anzabipour on bass and Ali Azhari on rhythm guitar. The drummer of the band is to be announced. The band started in 2003 with Khaled Sanadzadeh as the drummer and Ali Khodadoust as the keyboardist. In 2004, Khaled left the band and went abroad. Ali Khodadoust, too, did not continue with Kahtmayan after that time. Kahtmayan claims to be the first metal band in Iran to do so. But some others claim the same thing as well. The band's first concert was in May 2003 and their second one was in December 2003/January 2004 both with the former members.
In July 2005 Kahtmayan Released its first album EXIR by Ava Khorshid Company. With the release of Exir, Kahtmayan has shifted their music towards a more thrash metal sound. Another album (Virtual Existence) is in Progressive Metal style and it is performed by guitar, bass, keyboard and drums. In instruction of this album, they have used some of melodic elements and various atmospheres (in harmonic point of view) and rhythms. Virtual Existence which involved 9 tracks was finished by Homayoon Majdzadeh on 2002. They tried to release it on 2006. They have become one of the most successful Iranian Metal bands the world has ever seen eversince the release of Virtual Existance. It had a huge responce from Canada and the United States.
