Kagerou (Basilisk)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kagerō (japanese: 陽炎, hiragana: かげろう, rōmaji: Kagerou) a character featured in the Japanese anime Basilisk Kouga Ninpou Chou (known in English as the Kouga Ninja Scrolls). Kagerou was chosen to be one of ten shinobi of the Kouga Manjidani clan to fight against the chosen ten of the rival Iga Tsubagakure clan.
An extremely attractive woman as well as a very skilled ninja, Kagerou's sensuality is her deadliest weapon as her breath becomes poisonous when she's sexually aroused. According to the Koga, it's a trait shared by all the women in her family. She's deeply and madly in love with her leader Kouga Gennosuke; but due to Gennosuke's feelings for Oboro and her own technique, she's unable to be with him either emotionally or physically; resulting in a jaded persona filled with sadness and bitterness.
In the Japanese original, she's voiced by Risa Hayamizu.
[edit] Battles
Kagerou VS Akeginu: This battle took place on a bridge within daylight. Throughout this battle, Akeginu would charge at Kagerou and fight with her tanto. After a while, Akeginu, who was greatly enraged through the fact that Kagerou had killed the man that she loved, Chikuma Koshirou, unleashed her blood mist technique, stripping herself topless and running at Kagerou. Tenzen (who was truly Kisaragi Saemon) softly grabbed Akeginu behind the neck. Kagerou then finished off Akeginu, stabbing her in the stomach.
Kagerou VS Tokugawa officials This battle took place after Kagerou had been present within Iga Tokugawa official territory (which in this case was a house). This was due to the fact that Kagerou had supposedly killed Tenzen through her poisonous kiss. This which roused Tokugawa officials to break in and attack Kagerou. Kagerou, after fighting against the numerous officials, was made a prisoner after being wounded, and after that Tenzen tortured her with needles to practically death, despite Oboro's pleas for mercy towards her. When Gennosuke arrived, Kagerou already was in a near death state; after Tenzen's and Gennosuke's battle, she was carried away by Gennosuke and then died in his arms.
