The Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi is one of the most prestigious high schools in Istanbul (formerly known as Maarif Koleji); located in Moda, Istanbul. The main education language is Turkish and English. The original building dates back to before World War I and was built by a Christian sect, who called themselves Capusens.

The building was inhabited by the followers of this sect for many years. After the National Education Ministry decided to open a high school in the Kadiköy district, negotiatians that lasted many years took place between the ministry and this puritan Christian sect. In 1955 the school opened as the Marif College. In 1968 a second building was added to the school which served as a pension. In 1976 and 1977 two more buildings were added. For many years it was ranked as the biggest highschool in the Balkans.

After a new education structure was established in the Education Ministry, the schools name changed from Maarif Koleji to its present name, Kadikoy Anadolu Lisesi. Today the school is accepted as one of the three most important high schools in Istanbul.[citations needed] Like the two other, Galatasaray Lisesi and Istanbul Lisesi, it used to have 2-years prep. period and an independent curriculum, but from the year 2006 the system has changed. From that time the school has 1-year prep and 4 years of lycee education. With over 1500 students, and an %94.1 percent university entrance level, it has always been of the most important schools in Turkey.
