[edit] Controversies
The film has faced some controversy in the fact that John Abraham contracted a viral infection while in Kabul and was rushed back to India amidst shooting. It seemed unlikely that he would return for the remainder of the schedule but it seems he is intent on completing this film. Bipasha Basu, John's girl friend, insisted on completing the film in Bhuj. In the end, they ended up shooting the remainder of the film in Bhuj. John is now alright and is shooting for the film. There was also a kidnapping of another Indian driver who was, in turn, killed. Security had to be heightened and the actors are to return for another stretch of shootings presently. Besides John getting sick, the cast and crew of the movie kept getting threats from Taliban which created a tense atmosphere to shoot there.
[edit] Trivia
- John Abraham reportedly fell ill during the shooting of this film in Afghanistan and was rushed to the same hospital (Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai) as Amitabh Bachchan and the two were neighbors for a few days.
