Kaboodle
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kaboodle is a social bookmarking website launched in October 2005.
It is part of the current Social software trend that flourishes these days, especially in the Silicon Valley. Primarily focused on social shopping it aims at facilitating shopping comparison by generating a single public/private consolidation page. Whether through a bookmarklet or a toolbar it allows members (aka "Kaboodlers") to grab images and texts to get a flexible summary while browsing. The technology however does not restrict the website use to shopping comparison. It can also be used for storing personal bookmarks in order to access them from any computer. In this respect it can be used as a Personal knowledge management tool.
It is social in the sense that public Kaboodle pages are accessible to other "Kaboodlers" that consequently save time while searching information, and users can ask/receive feed-backs from others. The tag system, based on Folksonomy makes simple a search among various Kaboodle pages. Members can copy items from other member's public pages to enrich their own pages. In this respect it actively and pragmatically contributes to collective intelligence.
