Vian Andrews is working with daughter, Jesse, who lives in Calabria, Italy, on the development of ItalianVisits.com - designed to provide an alternative to mass tourism by giving English-speakers access to an "Italy" that most travelers and travelers and tourists to Italy do not see. ItalianVisits is being "integrated" into Wikipedia so visitors to the site can have one click access to encyclopedic information that can not be appropriately added to the ItalianVisits website.

As research is done on Regions, cities, towns and villages in Italy, from time to time, when in posession of useful information, Vian contributes when he can to the Italian section of Wikipedia.

Under Vian's direction, ItalianVisits.com is now organizing a network of North American travel agents who will introduce their clients to Italy, particularly parts of Italy that are not on the heavily touristed paths of Florence, Pisa, Rome, and Venice.

Vian and various other colleagues and I are now developing an English to Italian translation business to assist governments and businesses in Italy in their efforts to communicate to the English-speaking world.

Vian graduated from law at the University of British Columbia in 1991, but did not establish a law practice, but focused most of his time and energy on legal consulting and publishing and later software development. From December 2001 to November 2005, when he sold the company, Vian was President and CEO of DashToolz Inc., an Internet software company he founded to develop a graphical user interface to provide an alternative to the browser as a means of accessing the Internet and a wide variety of Internet based technologies.

Vian lives in Vancouver, Canada but is spending more time every year in Italy.
