I rely on a lot of well-written technical explanations on Wikipedia for my courses. Thus, vandalism really pisses me off.

[edit] I don't like Linux

For getting things complete in a timely fashion, I do not like Unix and I especially do not like Linux, since an OS is secondary to a stable development environment. (Re)compiling the kernel to install a device driver is not a good model. Neither is using 30 year old core code with layers of slop on top of it. Neither are makefiles (see the article for "modern versions", most of which still cannot handle spaces instead of tabs). Neither are Unix permissions.However, nothing beats Linux for having a well-fitting interface.

Remember: just because there is an alternative philosophy with which you agree doesn't automatically make anything that adheres to it practically superior.
