Justin Wing-Timm Yu is a tenor soloist residing in Hillsborough, CA. He became a professional vocalist at 8 years old, singing with the San Francisco Opera, and has since then represented the United States and the State of California in multiple national and international singing competitions and conventions. Other notable appearances are with the San Francisco Symphony, the Golden Gate Opera, Broadway by the Bay, Masterworsks Chorale (SM), and many other performing groups.

Justin can be heard on the recordings by Minoan Magic Lantern for the Burlingame High School Concert Choir. He is also heard on Ragazzi Boys Chorus' Canciones de Albanza, a CD focusing on Latino Sacred Music.

Justin also has a debut album set to be released in 2007 by the Annex Recording Studios in Menlo Park.

[edit] Training

Justin began singing with the San Francisco Boys Choir, the resident children's choir for the San Francisco Opera. Throughout elementary school, Justin trained in their music theory and aural training programs.

In middle school, Justin joined the triple-Grammy Award Winning Ragazzi Boys Chorus, under the direction of Joyce Kyle. There, he continues his music theory studies and aural training. Justin also studied under various voice teachers and artists, including members of the San Francisco Opera Chorus, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the male acapella choir Chanticleer.

Now in high school, Justin continues to train privately with various teachers and ajudicators.

[edit] Tours

Justin's first international tour was with the Ragazzi Boy's Chorus at the age of 11. He traveled with the choir to the British Isles, where they sang a 9 City Concert Tour in London, Shrewsberry, Stratford, Wales, and Bathe. They also competed and placed fourth in the prestigious Llangollen Internationl Music Festival.

In addition, Justin has toured to Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and many other Southeast Asian locations. Within the US, his tours have brought him to New York, Minnesota, Hawaii, Nevada, Seattle, Arizona, Connecticut, and Texas.
