Justin Duerr

Justin Duerr (b. 1976, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA) is a self taught artist, musician, and writer who is well-known in the Philadelphia underground art and music scene. As a visual artist, he is best known for large, highly detailed black and white posters drawn with Sharpie (marker)s. Since 1995, Duerr has published the zine Decades of Confusion Feed the Insect which features his poetry, essays, and drawings. Duerr has played as a solo musician as Justin Duerr and the Etheric Phoenix of L.O.V.E.; in the bands Northern Liberties (with Marc Duerr and K), Eulogy, the Vivian Girls Experience (with Enid Crow), One Rat Brain, Aviary 3, Kat Klix, and others. Duerr is currently at work on a documentary about the Toynbee tiles with filmmaker Jon Foy.
