Just a Day is a 2001 single from British band Feeder. It was released as a single due to encoragement from the bands fanbase on their messageboard, and then became a top 12 hit.
The track was originally available only as a b-side to their earlier single, "Seven Days in the Sun", and was at the time not on an album. However, it was used as one of the main songs in Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec on the PlayStation 2, and brought a lot of exposure to the band. The 2 formats of the single feature 3 new recordings, including a version of "Can't Stand Losing You" by The Police, and was the last song at their Reading 2001 slot.
The single charted at #12 in the UK charts, and stayed in the top 20 for a total of four weeks. The video featured a series of clips sent in by fans as part of a competition, in which they performed the song in their bedrooms. The video has a mixed response amongst the core fanbase, but is seen by UK alternative music followers as a music video breakthrough judging by it's appearances on all-time lists.
The song and video appeared near the halfway point on VH2's "Indie 500" list which was a chart broadcast in 2004 of the channel's top 500 videos of all time, as well as #14 on Kerrang! TV's "Rock 100" in the same year, which was voted by their viewers. In 2006 the track appeared on XFM's "X-List" for the first time ever at #48.
Ever since 2003 it has always been a regular to close the bands live sets.
