[edit] History
It was the band's 11th top 40 hit in the UK, and their first top 40 hit in the US, where it sneaked in for one week on the charts at exactly #40.
On July 16, 2006, this song was played as a wake-up call for the crew of Space Shuttle Discovery on their flight STS-121 at the request of astronaut Piers Sellers' family.[1]
The lyrics talk about a girlfriend Robert Smith had in high school and who drowned while with him. [citation needed]
