Just Jinjer (previously Just Jinger) is a contemporary rock group from South Africa. They are "fiercely blazing a trail on the international radio and online download charts". The California based band is launching their first US tour in fall 2006, supporting their latest self-titled album, available on iTunes.com, BurnLounge.com and from their Web site justjinjer.com
Just Jinjer is the biggest selling rock band in South African history, with over 240,000 units sold. Over the last decade, the band has performed and toured with U2, Counting Crows and Def Leopard among many others, performing for hundreds of thousands of fans in venues all around the world from the UK to Dubai, and released six critically acclaimed albums.
Just Jinjer is... Art Matthews (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar), Brent Harris (Drums/Vocals), Denholm Harding (Bass/Vocals) and Sandy Chila (Guitar/Keyboards).
2004 saw Just Jinger doing several arena shows with the Counting Crows and completed their own sold out tours of London, and Dubai. They are also currently building a big following in the Orange County area and the word is spreading due to packed venues and merchandise selling out. As 2005 draws to a close, JJ find themselves recording their International debut album with acclaimed Grammy Award winning producer, Dave Bianco, in Los Angeles.
In 2006 Just Jinger changed the spelling of their name to 'Just Jinjer', saying that stupid Americans would pronounce Jinger as 'Jin-ger' to rhyme with 'finger'. They released a new eponymous album in 2006 with this new spelling, consisting 13 of songs including both new and old material.
Art Matthews and Brent Harris are both known to be big fans of English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and have been known to wear the Spurs tops during gigs.
