Just Before Dawn

Just Before Dawn is the name of two American motion pictures.
The first, made in 1946, was a black-and-white crime/mystery film based upon a radio play and was directed by William Castle. The 7th production of the "Crime Doctor" series written by Max Marcin and adapted to the screen by Eric Taylor and Aubrey Wisberg. The film starred Warner Baxter, Adele Roberts, Mona Barrie and Martin Kosleck.
The second Just Before Dawn, made in 1981, is unrelated to the first. It is a horror/thriller film about five campers who arrive in the mountains to examine some property they have bought, but are warned by the forest ranger Roy McLean that a huge machete-wielding maniac has been terrorising the area. Ignoring the warnings, they set up camp, and start disappearing one by one.
