Jurgen van den Goorbergh

Jurgen van den Goorbergh (born December 1969 in Breda, Netherlands) is a Dutch motorcycle racer also known as The Flying Dutchman. He raced in the World Championships Supersport (2003-2005), GP250 (1991-1996), GP500/MotoGP (1997-2002). Jurgen is an expert in wet racing. In the wet 2005 GP of Shanghai Jurgen was a substitute driver for Makoto Tamada. During this race Jurgen started from the 19th position and finished an astounishing 6th place for the Konica Minolta Honda team.
In 2006 Jurgen will not join a road racing team, but will test MotoGP tyres for Michelin. His plans for 2006 are racing in the European Championships enduro, Dutch Championships trial and Supermoto.
