Junularo Esperantista Brita
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Junularo Esperantista Brita (JEB) is the organisation for young Esperantists in the British Isles. Its membership is free and open to anyone aged between 16 and 30 living in Great Britain and Ireland. Since the launch of its new website earlier this year the association has grow substantially and in June, once again started publishing its magazine ‘Saluton’, after several years of absence. At the moment JEB is working in a number of areas, independently and in conjunction with the British association EAB, to encourage young people to improve their language capabilities and to play a more active role in the Esperanto movement. Currently, the main focus is on the ‘Course-you-can’ weekend, a course for beginners and post-beginners which will take place in October in Stoke-on-Trent and the Internacia Seminario in Germany at New Year. A new discussion forum will soon be available, to promote communication between members in different parts of the country.
JEB has recently had delegations at the following Esperanto events in Britain and abroad:-
- 'Fiŝa Semajnfino', Boulogne-sur-Mer, France, a youth weekend organised by Espéranto-Jeunes
- Esperanto Comenius Project, Modena, Italy
- 87th British Congress of Esperanto, Scarborough, United Kingdom
