June Cleaver
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
June Cleaver is a fictional character, the matriarch of the Cleaver clan on the US television series Leave It to Beaver. She was played by Barbara Billingsley in the series and by Janine Turner in the 1997 film adaptation.
June was portrayed as the archetypical suburban mother, as she was often in the kitchen and was always cheerful and ready with a plate of cookies. She was famous for always being dressed up as if to host a party, even when relaxing around the house. She wore her pearl necklace in almost every scene, even when she was gardening, and was described by her husband Ward Cleaver in the television series as a "former belle of East St. Louis."
