[edit] The page "Julia Drusi Caesaris" redirected to this page

I would like to know why the page "Julia Drusi Caesaris" is constantly redirected to the page "Julia Caesar". The daughter of Drusus the Younger was named Julia and was referred to in inscriptions as "Iulia Drusi filia" or "Iulia Drusi Caesaris filia". The name "Julia Caesar" is completely false. The cognomen "Caesar" was worn by the MALE members of the Imperial household. It was never worn by any woman. I just don't know who made up that name of "Julia Caesar". If one wishes to ascertain what I say, just look in the Prosopographia Imperii Romani (PIR) or any other serious and reliable source of information.

[edit] Julia's name: an indication of a real problem

I totally agree with the post who corrects the information regarding Julia's name. I noticed that many wikipedia entries related to members of the Julio-Claudian dynasty contain a lot of false or erroneous information (for instance, Antonia the Elder's full name was NOT Julia (???) Antonia Cretica (???) Major but just Antonia Major, the daughter of Drusus II was not named Claudia Livia Julia Helena but just Julia (she's generally refered to as Iulia Drusi filia, even if some writers call her Livia Julia or Julia Livilla), Agrippina the Younger's full name was not Julia VIPSANIA (????) Agrippina Minor and she's called Agrippinilla only in Robert Graves' novel, Domitia Lepida's sister is not named Domitia Lepida Major, etc.).

I suspect some fellow to just make up information about Julio-Claudian family members. It's very sad, because this makes wikipedia a not very reliable source of information. Are there not people at Wikipedia who verify the information contained in their articles?

Name of Tiberius' granddaughter

Prosopographia Imperii Romani "Iulia 636" gives only 'Iulia Drusi Caesaris filia'.

'Helen' comes only from Robert Graves.

Seneca (Pumpkinification 10) wrote: Iste quem videtis, per tot annos sub meo nomine latens, hanc mihi gratiam rettulit, ut duas Iulias proneptes meas occideret, alteram ferro, alteram fame ("the two Julias, my greatgranddaughters, one by the sword one by hunger")

Whoever is deleting the names of Julia, can you please leave the names alone and stop deleting her names. Her name is Claudia Livia Julia Caesaris, not Iulia Drusi Caesaris Filia. I was the person who originally typed this article and everything in this article is correct. I don't know where this name Iulia Drusi Caesaris Filia came from and the fact she is known as Helen is correct. Anriz 1 April 2006

Then give your exact sources, with exact references, otherwise you won't be believed! There's nothing in the PIR, except "Julia Drusi Caesaris filia". 81.190.70.164.

[edit] Betrothal to Sejanus?

The claim about Livilla’s daughter being betrothed to Sejanus is shaky (pace PIR „636 Iulia”).

Cf. R.Seager, Tiberius (London 1972), 213 note 6.)
