[edit] Early life and career

Huddy was born in Miami Beach, Florida at Mount Sinai Hospital. She graduated from High School in 1987 and went onto study at the University of Missouri.

Soon after finishing her degree there she began her news journalism career at age 21 as a reporter/producer for KARO-FM's morning newscast in Columbia, Missouri. She later relocated to Ventura, California to join KADY-TV- a station owned by her mother and father- where she initially worked as the station's promotions director and executive producer but later turned to reporting.

Huddy became a NAPTE Award finalist for her work there. After more than 5 years working in California, Huddy again relocated, this time to Jacksonville, Florida to work for WAWS as a general assignment reporter for the station's nightly newscast. She was also a news anchor for WQRK-FM's morning radio program The Lex and Terry Show.

[edit] At Fox News

She joined Fox News in March 1998 as a reporter at the Miami bureau, but later on moved over to the New York studios where she presented a variety of news programs, occasionally filled in for E.D. Hill on Fox & Friends (popular morning news show) during the week and also hosted Fox and Friends 1st hour, and became the permanent co-host of the weekend edition of Fox & Friends along with co-hosts Mike Jerrick and Julian Phillips.

From September 2005, Huddy had been hosting Dayside (weekdays at 1 p.m. ET) (originally due to Linda Vester's maternity leave) with co-host Mike Jerrick in front of a live studio audience on Fox News. She used to back up host. She had also started a blog on the Dayside homepage called Juliet's DaySide Dish [1]. It was announced in mid 2006 that Huddy and Jerrick have been chosen to co-host a yet unnamed morning program set to launch in January of 2007 on all FOX owned and operated stations[2]. As a result, Dayside ended production in September 2006, giving Juliet and Mike time to get ready for their new morning program. She and Mike also co-hosted the FOX News 2006 New Years Special, All American New Year live from Times Square.

She currently works at the New York Fox News Studios and resides in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Through her time on Fox, Juliet has gained a noticeable popularity particularly among male viewers [3]. She frequently wears short skirts on-camera, and she often trades jokingly flirtatious banter with male presenters, especially Jerrick[citation needed]. She is generally considered a sex symbol.

In August 2005, she was named Television's Sexiest Newswoman by the New York entertainment magazine Steppin' Out[4]. The issue, which featured Huddy on the cover in a trademark short skirt, quickly became the most distributed issue of the magazine ever - a further testament to her popularity.

Dayside's ratings have increased since Huddy began hosting it (see [5].

In September 2006, Fox News ended the Dayside show in favor of transferring the format to Fox Broadcast channels as a syndicated show. The new version of Dayside, which some say will also have some resemblence to Fox and Friends, will appear in January 2007 on local Fox affiliates. Huddy will continue to co-host the show with Mike Jerrick.

[edit] Personal life

Huddy was in a five-year relationship in California while working for KADY-TV, which ended when she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to work for WAWS & WQRK-FM. After relocating to New York, she was briefly married, but the union ended in divorce in 2004. Since then, she has been linked to several people, including disgraced former Illinois Senate candidate Jack Ryan [6].

Recently, Huddy has been seeing Dave Salmoni, a zoologist.[citation needed] This relationship began on air after Salmoni appeared on Dayside to promote his new documentary about lions on the Discovery Channel (see [7]. Since then, Salmoni has appeared on Dayside on a number of occasions, either contributing to a news story as a wild animal expert or as a member of the audience, where Huddy has referred to him several times as her boyfriend.
