Julian "Yo-Yo" Thew is an English professional poker player based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.
Thew received his nickname when fellow players told him that his chipstack goes up and down like a yo-yo.
Thew has made five finishes in the money on the European Poker Tour (EPT) to date, including two final tables during its first season.
In January 2005, Thew won the £1,000 no limit hold'em main event at The Grosvenor Grand Challenge in London, outlasting 128 opponents to take home the £48,000 first prize.
As of 2006, his total live tournament winnings exceed $550,000. He is sponsored by William Hill Poker.
