[edit] List of backmasked messages
Thanks for adding those messages, but do you have sources for them? I'm trying to keep the "Deliberate Messages" section restricted to messages that are known for certain to have been backmasked. Thanks, TheJabberwʘck 21:22, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying, but I think the messages either be removed or moved to the Alleged section. In terms of moving them out of the Deliberate section: Although it may sound like they are deliberate, that's not enough to list them as such in an encyclopedia. Many messages that are phonetically audible are in fact random combinations of sounds.
- In terms of whether they should be in the encyclopedia at all: It depends whether you have sources for them. Just hearing them is original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. If you can find a source for the existence of the messages, they belong in the encyclopedia. If you can find a source for the deliberateness, they belong in the Deliberate section. [edit] Subcategories
Hi,
It's customary not to add an article to both a category and one of that category's subcategories. So, for example, garum was already in Category:Fish sauce, which is a subcategory of Category:Fermented foods -- so garum shouldn't also be placed directly into Category:Fermented foods. (PS I love Category:Illegal foods, great idea.) —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 22:53, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
