It says that Clark Gable and Loretta Young had a child. I asked my grandmother and she said that it was never proven. Is she correct? If so, it needs to be removed from Judy Lewis. Mike H 00:54, Aug 5, 2004 (UTC)

You can give Grannie the news: it's true. Judy Lewis had always said her biological parents were Clark Gable and Loretta Young, and that her "adoption" by Loretta Young and her husband Thomas Lewis was a ruse designed to preserve Loretta's image. Loretta Young had denied this, but almost no one believed her because Judy so strongly resembles both her parents. All doubt was removed with the posthumous publication of Loretta Young’s memoirs, in which she admitted the affair and confirmed Judy Lewis’s version. - Nunh-huh 04:38, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

That is true. I've read Judy Lewis's memoir as well as Young's last authorized biography, which give the "rumor" more than enough credibility. Remember, during the 1930's Hollywood was massively bombarded by moral crusaders (such as religious groups and right-wing politicians) who were destined to rid the film industry of its bad behavior. It would have been mandatory to hide a scandal like that. Glad I can give you more insight.
