Judy Jensen

Judy Jensen (born 1953 in Lamesa, Texas) is an artist who currently resides in Austin, Texas. She does primarily glass work, although she incorporates other mixed media into her glass pieces. Her piece "Blue Willow" is on display as part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution-run Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C.. Her paintings are in numerous other public and private collections, including The Royal Ontario Museum, The Akron Art Museum, The Los Angeles County Museum, and The Corning Museum of Glass.

As a result of her lifelong interest in painting, Jensen created a new technique for reverse painting on glass. Jensen has exhibited widely, with solo venues including eight exhibits at New York's Heller Gallery, and group exhibitions including The Cleveland Museum of Art, the New Delhi Biennale, The Detroit Institute of Arts, and The Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Japan. Jensen has lectured about her work in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago and Honolulu. A recipient of an NEA Visual Arts Fellowship, Jensen's honors also include a John H. Hauberg Fellowship Residency at Pilchuck Glass School.
