Judy Ann Santos
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Judy Ann Santos (born May 11, 1978 in Manila, Philippines) is a Filipina television and movie actress. Juday, as she is fondly called, is one of the most popular young actresses in Philippine cinema and television who is celebrating her 20 years in showbusiness in 2006. Her last full-length non-digital movie was "Don't Give Up On Us", a film by Joyce Bernal, co-starring with Piolo Pascual, who has starred with her in four other films - "Esperanza - The Movie", "Kahit Isang Saglit", "Bakit 'Di Totohanin", and "Till There Was You".
Her next movie "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo", directed by Jose Javier Reyes, opens on December 25, 2006. The male lead in this movie, Ryan Agoncillio is reported to be Judy Ann Santos fiancee in real life. No date for their marriage has been set.
Incidentally, Star Cinema's opening and closing movies for 2006 both had "Juday" in the lead. No word yet on her next film projects for 2007.
"Juday" is well-known for headlining several drama series - "Mara Clara", "Esperanza", "Judy Ann Drama Special", "Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka", the action/drama/comedy/romance series "Basta't Kasama Kita", the science-fiction/fantasy/adventure series "Krystala", and the recently-concluded adult drama/romance series Sa Piling Mo. The teleserye Sa Piling Mo was just honored with the Best Primetime Drama Series statuette by the PMPC Star Awards for TV. "Juday" herself received two nominations - one for Sa Piling Mo - and another one for Maalaala Mo Kaya (the "Rosaryo" episode). Her next teleserye is set for mid-2007 with the title "Isabella" or "Ysabela".
