Judicator Caste

The Judicator Caste is a collection of Protoss tribes in the fictional StarCraft universe. The Judicators, descended from the first tribes to join the Khala at the end of the Aeon of Strife, were selected by Khas and his students to act as leaders. Before the outbreak of war with the Zerg, the Judicators controlled Protoss society. With few exceptions, members of the Judicator Caste avoid fighting, as they are more concerned with leadership, religion, and organization.

The Judicator Caste is controlled by the Judicator Assembly, which is in turn governed by a body called the Protoss Conclave. The Ara Tribe dominates the assembly and thus the Conclave, as the Assembly votes in members of the Conclave.

A young tribe by Protoss standards, the Ara Tribe is descended from the first group of Protoss to rally around Khas and his vision of Protoss society, the Khala. By controlling the Judicator Assembly, the Ara Tribe dominates the Protoss Conclave. In addition, the Ara Tribe operates the Conclave Praetor Guard and has a powerful fleet. The Ara's tribal color is red.
[edit] Shelak Tribe
The Shelak Tribe was the closest tribe to the Xel'Naga before the Aeon of Strife. They were appointed by the other Judicators to study and protect the Khaydarin Crystals and study the ancient Xel'Naga texts. The Judicators ban any other Protoss from accessing these archivers of Xel'Naga material. To this end, the Shelak Tribe has a military arm. However, it failed to defend the Khaydarin Crystals from the Zerg. The Shelak's tribal color is white.
