I removed the following text:

  • "In 1574 he participated of the foundation of San Salvador, on the Uruguay river, and was appointed Lieutenant Governor and Capitan General of the United Provinces of River Plate."

because I coudln't find any place called san salvador founded by Garay on the Uruguay River, and because the United Provinces of River Plate didn't exist until the 19th century. Mariano(t/c) 07:27, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
