Juan Manuel Barrientos is an Argentine football defender. He was born on March 4, 1982, in the city of Lomas de Zamora in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. He currently plays for FC Lorient of Ligue 1 in France.
Barrientos began his career at Racing Club in the Primera Division Argentina in 2003. In 2004 he was released by Racing and moved to the Regionalised 4th division of Argentine football to play for Textil Mandiyú.
Later in 2004 Barrientos was spotted by French Ligue 2 club FC Lorient and taken to France. At the end of the 2005-2006 season the club were promoted to Ligue 1 and Barrientos saw his return to top level football.
