IMDb profile |
Ju-on 2 (呪怨2) is the second film in the Japanese horror series. The film was released in Japan on March 25, 2000 and was later released onto video on April 14, 2000.
Much of this sequal is a recap of the first film, nearly showing 30 minutes of retelling out of 76 minutes. Also the rest of the movie introduces new information on those events, and new characters, as well as briefly introducing events which would play into the two theatrical films.

[edit] Synopsis
Once again, the whole film is divided into six little vignettes. The first vignette, Kayako, and half of the next is reused footage from the first Ju-On.
[edit] Kayako |伽椰子|
The film begins in the same manner as the last, with Kobayashi Shunsuke coming home and talking about his student Toshio with his wife Manami. This leads him to visiting the Saeki home.
[edit] Kyoko |響子|
This vignette starts the same way as the last, and half of it uses the same footage. Kyoko (Yuuko Daike) is coming to her brother Tatsuya's (Makoto Ashikawa) realty firm, where he asks her to see one particular house. Apparently it has had a past and he wants Kyoko's unique insight on that house (Kyoko has mild psychic abilities as she is naturally sensitive to the supernatural).
[edit] Tatsuya |達也|
The newly moved Kitada couple are home early one morning about a week after their move. Wife Yoshimi (Kahori Fujii) is taking the mail out of the mailbox when a deliverer comes. He asks her about how recently the couple has moved, and remarks that the house had been empty before. Walking back to the door, Yoshimi opens the thin package, with sender unknown. She takes out a drawing of Toshio's parents, recognizable from the first film, and also Kawamata Kayako's diary. As she stares at the diary, her eyes widen and her face becomes expressionless.
[edit] Kamio |神尾|
Two detectives, Kamio (Taro Suwa) and his cadet Iizuka are coming to a former detective's, Yoshikawa, home to thank him and to investigate his sudden withdrawn behavior. Yoshikawa and Kamio were involved in the case concerning the Murakami murders and disappearances, and also that of the Kitada couple. Yoshikawa-san's wife denies them access and tells them that her husband cannot leave the house.
[edit] Nobuyuki |信之|
Nobuyuki is at school, cleaning up with four other students. The two girls are complaining how the two other boys are lazing around and that they should act more like Nobuyuki, whom the boys say is creepy. Nobuyuki is staring out the window at what seems to be nothing in particular, but turns out to be Kayako in the rain. Suddenly, Kayako's hand slaps the window, and reaches to open it. The classroom is now strangely empty, and as Kayako crawls in, Nobuyuki backs away against the far wall. He runs out of the classroom, and is startled as she crawls out from another classroom. He runs quickly down the hallway, with Kayako in quick pursuit. Down the stairwell he runs, until Kayako is seen crawling up the stairs. Nobuyuki is finally cornered when the final door cannot be opened, and falls to the floor in desperation as not one, but TWO Kayakos advance upon him. The next shot shows a Nobuyuki quite dead and ghastly white, with Kayako cradling his body and numerous other Kayakos outside pawing at the windows. Outside in the schoolyard, tens of Kayakos can be seen swaying to the wind in the rain, croaking the death rattle.
[edit] Saori |沙織|
This final vignette shows the house once more, with a FOR SALE sign outside. Apparently some girls (possibly the same from the next film) have snuck in, and they are doubting their ringleader Saori about the decision to come at all.
