Re. your wadding question: The purpose of the wadding in a shotgun is to trap the expanding gas behind the wadding, and thus the shot, rather than simply letting it escape though the holes in the shot stacking pattern. Thus, it is not necessary to include wadding where a bullet will effectively fill the bore and trap gas behind it. Hope this answers your question. Nimmo 05:18, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
