- In french wiki, access keys are not the sames! "Alt-C" is for "chercher".

[edit] Age of Consent
Hi! I think I'm going to revert your edit of this page as I think you've missed the point of the sentence. "Some jurisdictions forbid sexual activity outside of legal marriage completely." The reasoning behind this is that the age of consent in those jurisdictions is not set at an abitary age but is granted once the person is married. Please note that the section you edited is the introduction of the whole article and as such contains information that is covered in the body of the article. You should refrain from arbitarily editing the introduction to an article without editing the body. It is, in my opinion, very relavent to the article's discussion. Unless you can convince me otherwise? ^_^ --Cheers! Monotonehell 07:14, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi there, I now see what the sentence "some jurisdictions forbid sexual activity outside of legal marriage completely" was meant for, but it could benefit from a little rephrasing -- as it stands now, the relation to the article's focus ("This article refers specifically to the AoC Laws regulating sexual acts") is not very clear. I humbly propose the following: "in some jurisdictions where the AoC is above the marriageable age, sexual activity outside of legal marriage can be completely forbidden". This would limit it to the topic at hand rather than sounding like a general prohibition of adultery. How does that sound? JREL 16:54, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well that wouldn't work either lol - There are some jurisdictions where sex outside marriage is completely forbidden (I'm thinking Saudi Arabia and possibly Malaysia for Muslims but I'd have to check that). The purpose of that paragraph is to introduce what is discussed in the entire article. Also bear in mind that the sections below are to be expanded as time goes on. I admit the paragraph is in my usual non nonsence style so I'm open to edits (as long as they don't change the meaning and purpose of the intro). I guess I also have a bit of an ownership issue since I wrote it. You dont have to be humble at all! I'm not the boss, this is WP after all. Any more suggestions of what to do? --Monotonehell 17:44, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- As With most of the sections on there the marriage section desparatly needs expasion. I thought I'd add that one sentence at least for now lol. I don't have the time to do the research right now unfortunately. Perhaps after I finish my uni assignments and actual money making work I might get a chance to look at it properly. --Monotonehell 08:49, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Singlish
Hi Jrel!
Sorry for not replying sooner.
1. I wash my hand already. ! Singaporeans usually give this response in lieu of the question "You wash hand already or not?!" The word "already" in the question signifies the expected use of "already" in the answer. This form of answering is more prevalent if the interrogative, "You wash your hand already or not", is seen as whiny and irritating. The "already" in the sentence would more likely carry a tone of irritation and the "already" would be dragged i.e. "alreadeeeeeee"
2. I got wash my hand.
In my opinion, this answer is a milder form of the above one. It is usually spoken in reply to the question "you got wash your hand or not"? As you would notice, we Singaporeans usually answer correspondingly to the question. This is also more of a statement. For example, if my mom tells me "If you never wash hand, you cannot eat cake", i would respond in this manner.
3. I wash finish hand, then I eat
Hmmmm... not too sure about what this sentence is trying to get across. Sorry
If I can be of further help, do not hesitate to leave a message at my user talk.
Thanks!

Hey JREL,
I've seen you contributed to Loanword and I'd like to ask you to take a look at something. I'm pretty desperate right now. It might not be your subject, but if you look at the discussion here (it's mainly about the difference between "inherited" and "borrowed" lexicon, applicable to any language), you will be able to form an opinion.
If you know some other qualified wikipedians, I'd be glad if you could point this page out to them. Thanks, Krankman 14:33, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
