[edit] Thanks for the welcome

I assumed it was an automated post till I actually looked in on you. Nice of you to drop by and welcome me to the neighborhood. I have since paid it forward in a welcome to a newer user. Glenn6502 02:33, 22 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] RFC pages on VfD

Should RFC pages be placed on VfD to be deleted? I'm considering removing Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Slrubenstein, Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Jwrosenzweig and Wikipedia:Requests for comment/John Kenney from WP:VFD. Each of them was listed by CheeseDreams. Your comments on whether I should do this would be appreciated. - Ta bu shi da yu 03:49, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] How do you do this???

Hi Jrdioko, maybe you know an answer to this question. There is a madman (I really don't know how else to describe him -- or her? I doubt it, though) who has been attacking a number of pages on the Wikipedia for quite a few weeks now. He should definitely be expelled. I was wondering what the procedure was. His username is Antifinnugor and he has been attacking in particular the pages and the users he lists on his user page (and the respective talk pages). This person knows absolutely nothing about linguistics (something that is clearly evidenced by every statement he makes), yet he has injected an enormous amount of false controversy in fields in which there is no controversy at all among experts. Personally, I studied and taught historical linguistics (at a high academic level) for two decades, so I think I can be a good judge of this. However, this is not just my opinion, but the opinion of every other user involved. Pasquale 18:25, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Request From A Beginner

Hi Jrdioko, I appreciate your dedication to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made the decision to remove an addition I had made in the entry for sandwiches. Obviously, my addition was not a substantial one, and I was merely tinkering with the entry seeing as how Wikipedia is still a bit of a novelty to me. However, what actually upset me was your subsequent action: removing another of my entries that I had posted for the University of San Francisco. Unless you attended USF, I doubt that you know little of its history or the topic which I chose to expand upon. In my opinion, your decision to delete my addition to USF Football was a knee-jerk reaction to my previous entry about sandwiches. I do not doubt that you are an excellent administrator (or sysop), but please do not be overzealous. In the future I feel that you personally should challenge yourself to make the Wikipedia experience a more welcoming one. 24.14.4.166 02:10, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Please stop making these false accusations against me. I don't know what your problem is, or why you have targeted me, but it seems very pathetic, and you need to stop and get a life. If you continue making threats, I will have to report you and have you blocked from Wikipedia.

[edit] Help with comment on my talk user talk page

Hi

I just got this comment on my user talk page: User talk:Master Of Ninja#Can It?. I don't understand what it actually means, and I'm not even sure what the blocking threat is for. Is this just a troll of some sort? I would be grateful for your assistance. - Master Of Ninja 08:17, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Replaced a redirection by writing an article

Hi Jrdioko,

I have written this page: Year 2038 problem. It used to be redirected to Unix time. However, the info related to the actual subject on that page was rather limited. So, I took the liberty to remove that redirection and write an article which (I hope) covers the subject. Is that permitted? I also linked back to the orginal article. Is that the way to go about it?

Thanks for your time.

Not sure I remember; possibly one with an image deletion warning or an image page or something. My instinct is to check the history when I see an unsigned post, and slap ~~~~ on their talk page without much further thought. Sorry for being such a pain. User:Jrdioko - I see where you participated in the matter concerning Abraham Lincoln's sexuality that was discussed and voted upon on Talk:Abraham Lincoln. There has been a lengthy and exhausting discussion surrounding this exact same issue at Talk:Elvis Presley and the archived Talk pages as well. Because this has the potential to create a new standard for what is acceptable sources, I thought that you might want to be aware of it.

If the policy consensus you and others arrived at on the Abraham Lincoln issue is set aside in the Presley article it will result in new ones for countless others. I think your group discussion that arrived at a determination of what constituted a proper source should be defined by the Wikipedia community and set as firm policy which would go a long way in helping to substantially reduce the tiresome and repeated edit wars. Thank you for your interest. Please note I have left the same message for others who worked on this matter. Ted Wilkes 20:17, August 18, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] I don't understand why you deleted Lissette?

I'm new to Wikipedia so perhaps I misunderstand the process somewhat but is it correct that you deleted Lissette Álvarez simply because you don't like her?

" 04:30, 5 January 2005 Jrdioko deleted "Lissette Alvarez" (No me gusta Lissette Álvarez) "

Lissette was an integral part of the nueva ola music movement in Puerto Rico and was a bigger name in the 60's than both Chucho Avellanet and Lucesita Benitez whose articles remain. And since Lissette is mentioned repeatedly within Wikipedian articles she shouldn't have been removed. For example, within http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chucho_Avellanet there is:

"Helped by Alfred D. Herger, he was a member of a group of teen sensations that included Lissette Alvarez (to whom Avellanet got married), Lucecita Benitez..."

"...he was able to explore his ability both in the show hosting and acting fields when he hosted, alongside Lissette Alvarez, the popular El show de Chucho y Lissette."

"He also participated, with Lissette, in a famous Schaeffer Beer commercial, where he sang the jingle Cerveza Schaeffer es la mejor cuando se toma mas de una! (Schaeffer Beer is the best when you drink it more than once!!)."

"In 1994, he, Lucecita Benitez and Lissette Alvarez rejoined forces for a one-night only concert."

It makes no sense to have Chucho remain and not Lissette! Lissette was a bigger sensation than Chucho. It would be like having an article about Sonny and Cher and then deciding to delete Cher!AndiP 03:42, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

Hey Jrdioko, I already asked you once this but you never did it. Could you please, remove my name (S o r o u c h e) with no space, appearing at http://www.indopedia.org/Indopedia:Deletion_log.html.

And also this page

[edit] Kinopanorama overlap

Each of the three films are marked with a small indent at the bottom of each frame. The indents are used by the projectionists, who rack-up the frames, to match the overlaps. This is why I suggested that someone else have a look at the frames and arrive at the figures. So, if you personally are interestred, or if you know someone else who is, please email me direct.--Jslasher 22:32, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
