[edit] The Posture Pal

How Posture Pal® Works The Posture Pal® positions you to allow gravitational forces to stretch anterior body tissues while placing the posterior tissue in a shortened position. Posture Pal® is designed to bring your head and shoulders into a healthy, normal postural position. That simple benefit allows comfortable, balanced functional motions for your life which reverses or eliminates common upper body aches and pains.

Why Is The Posture Pal Important For Me? During the day, a person flexes their spine on average between 1,500 and 4,000 times per day while extending their spine, at best by less than half of that. This imbalance in motion, over time, develops an increased kyphotic posture (rounded back), off-centered joint positions and asymmetrical musculature. These effects are often neglected because, as the saying goes "out of sight... out of mind." This usually continues until a person has their "Ouch, that hurts" moment. Have you had yours? The good news is that posture can be corrected in mild to moderate cases and aided in severe cases with proper positioning using the Posture Pal® to recreate a balanced torso.

How Do I Know If My Body Pain Is Because Of Poor Posture? You may be at risk of suffering the effects of poor posture. Over 50% of all common aches and pains above the chest are related to poor posture. Check with qualified healthcare professionals such as your physician and physical therapist for proper testing. Here are some common painful manifestations of poor posture.

Aches and pains in the upper torso, neck and shoulders Headaches Pinching pain in front of shoulders Sharp pain in ribs or back Why Should I Use The Posture Pal®? There are other postural enhancing products available that have helped scores of sufferers. Posture Pal's® unique design is unlike any other for comfort and results. A comfortable head rest with supportive material for the head and neck along with a comfortable, yet firm center element along the thoracic spine enhances stabilization and gentle stretching. A gentle grade from spine to shoulders positions the shoulders in a proper alignment.

How Should I Use It? After being hunched over a computer all day, slaving away on an assembly line with neck and back pain, or just slouched on the couch, place the Posture Pal® on your bed, couch, or floor and relax or implement an exercise regimen to use on Posture Pal®. The Posture Pal® is designed to do the rest. For severe postural changes, use Posture Pal® between 5 and 20 minutes at least once daily depending on ones physical condition. Good posture is now in your control with Posture Pal®!

How It Came To Be I created Posture Pal® because of a stiff neck, back and shoulder pain. While going to physical therapy, I was given exercises to strengthen my back muscles and stretches to loosen up my chest, neck and back muscles. I had overdeveloped front shoulder and chest muscles and very underdeveloped middle back muscles.

This common condition brought my shoulders forward and down causing pain in my upper back and neck during the day at work and in my shoulder at night while I slept. While I practiced the correct posture all day, I could feel my shoulders pull forward as I drifted off to sleep.

My posture is better due to exercising my back muscles, stretching, keeping up on my posture and using my Posture Pal®. And now my back, shoulder and neck pain are eliminated.
