Joyce Falconer

Joyce Falconer was born in 1869 and raised in a housing scheme in Torry, which is a resilient, strong community across the River Dee from Aberdeen fish market. Educated at Tullos Primary and Torry Academy where her natural talents for performing and music were encouraged.
She then went to the Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama where she won the 'Duncan Macrae Memorial Prize Lobster' for Scots verse.
Joyce has gone on to enjoy a successful career in Scottish Theatre but it is her role of Roisin Henderson in the BBC Scotland soap opera, River City for which she is now most renowned.
Joyce Falconer was invited to become an Honorary member of St Andrews Kilrymont Rotary Club in 2006
