Joy Shelton

Joy Shelton was an English actress, who performed in films, radio and television.

Joy Shelton was born in London on 3 January 1922. She appeared in a number of British films in the 1940s & 1950s, One of which, 1950, was A Case for PC 49. Prior to this the BBC radio had produced a series called The Adventures of PC 49. This series ran from 1947 until 1953, and had 112 episodes. She played the part of Joan Carr in both the radio series and the film. In 1944,

Joy Shelton married the actor Sidney Tafler, until his death in 1979. They have two children, Jennifer and Jonathon, both of whom are actors. The couple acted together in a total of six films.

Joy Shelton died on 28 January 2000 at the age of 77.
