Journey to Ernie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Originally in the Journey to Ernie segment on Sesame Street, Big Bird had to find Ernie in a box with Ernie's striped shirt and his rubber duckie on it. In 2003, The Journey to Ernie segment changed, and now Big Bird has to look for clues and find Ernie some place that is hinted at in the beginning. Occasionally there are unexpected surprises, like when, during a shape hideout Telly Monster is hiding in the triangle. Or when one day Bert decides to hide instead of Ernie. And let us not forget the episode when Ernie wants Big Bird to hide so he could seek.
In the Journey to Ernie segments, Matt Vogel performs Big Bird, Steve Whitmire performs Ernie and Joey Mazzarino and David Rudman perform the Two Headed Monster. Rudman also is the voice of the announcer who interrupts Big Bird's various escapades before the game begins.
And when the journey is over and Big Bird finally discovers Ernie, they sing:
It’s Ernie. - It's me!
I’d know you anywhere,
The schhhch-schhhch in your laugh,
That Ernie shirt and hair.
The squeaking of your ducky, tells us your the one,
We found him! - You found me!
La la la la la,
Our journey
To Ernie
Is done...
