From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Journal of Health Psychology is an interdisciplinary, international journal edited by David Marks, Professor of Psychology at City University, London, that deals with psychological approaches to health and illness.
The journal is an international forum for research and debate in health psychology. It draws on interdisciplinary contributors from social and cross-cultural psychology, clinical psychology, sociology, anthropology, medicine, public health, epidemiology, health communication, and related fields. The journal also aims to reflect the social significance of health psychology by addressing the social, political, and economic contexts of psychological and health processes.
The journal professes to encourage the development of sound theoretical analysis in health psychology. It also aims to draw from traditional empirical methodology in psychology as well as from new perspectives of a more qualitative or critical orientation.
