Journal of Ecology

The Journal of Ecology (not to be confused with another journal called Ecology) is a scientific journal concerning plant ecology. It was first published in 1913, and is the oldest peer-reviewed, international ecological journal. It is published by the British Ecological Society, which also publishes Journal of Animal Ecology, Journal of Applied Ecology, and Functional Ecology.

As well as typical research-reporting articles, it publishes Reviews, a Forum, and a series on the "Biological Flora of the British Isles" with a uniform format. It has online manuscript submission, review, and back issues.

According to the ISI Web of Science, the impact factor of the Journal of Ecology has steadily increased since 2001, and is at 4.2 citations per article as of 2005.
