[edit] Career

Nakata attended Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music, starring in much jidaigeki and tokusatsu projects. He advanced to voice acting activity with seiyū Michiko Nomura's recommendation, and began his career in voice acting in the 1990s.

Nakata has an established reputation for his astringent voice, usually being typecast as either the intellectual veteran soldier (Corporal Giroro in Sgt. Frog) or the narrator (Gokujou Seitokai).

Additionally, he has voiced a historical figure (Hijikata Toshizo) in the anime Peacemaker Kurogane, also produced by the same studio.
  • He has voiced characters alongside Nobuo Tobita whereby both characters have strong relationships.
    • In the Hellsing OVA, Tobita voices Montana Max, who regards Alucard (Nakata) as a worthy opponent.
    • In Gankutsuou, Tobita voices Baptistin, a right hand man of the Count of Monte Cristo (Nakata).
    • Interestingly, in Get Backers, Tobita's character (Akabane Kurudo) have some similarities to Alucard (mannerisms, way of dressing)
  • In Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer and Gankutsuou, his character has strong connections with the one voiced by Jun Fukuyama; in Code Geass, Nakata's character (Diethard Lied) is interested in the alter-ego of Fukuyama's (Zero). Interestingly, both Stargazer and Code Geass are produced by the same company (Sunrise).
