Joshua Silver

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joshua Silver is an experimentalist from the University of Oxford; a “tinkerer” as he calls himself. Silver stumbled onto a way to change the curvature of lenses when he was “tinkering” with mirrors. In the long run, he created a corrective lens that contains a fluid, so can be adjusted to fix almost any visional issue. He is now working on getting the production cost of these glasses down to under a dollar so he can distribute them to the billion-or-so people that have vision issues in developing countries. 10,000 have been distributed in Ghana. He is doing so not for profit, but to better the world.
