Josh Boone (born November 21, 1984, in Mount Airy, Maryland) is an American professional basketball player for the New Jersey Nets of the NBA. He was a forward/center for the Connecticut Huskies.

He attended South Carroll High School in Winfield, Maryland, where he averaged 39 points, 19.4 rebounds and seven blocked shots per game. He led South Carroll to a 20-6 record and the state semifinals. After graduating, he attended West Nottingham Academy (a small, college prep school) in Colora, Maryland, averaging a stellar 28 points, 16 rebounds and 9.7 blocks per game.

Booone had a strong career as a freshman in the 2003-2004 season at UConn, starting 37 out of 38 games. He averaged 5.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks and shot 55.4% from the field. He was also the 12th freshman to start on the first game of the season under Jim Calhoun. In the Big East Tournament, he averaged 8.0 points and 11.3 rebounds in three games. He set a Big East Tournament record for most blocks by a freshman in a game with 16 against Notre Dame. Against Villanova on February 28, Boone scored the game-winning shot with 5 seconds left. Boone was also outstanding in the NCAA Final Four Tournament, scoring 9 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the final two games.

Josh Boone was picked number 23rd overall in the 2006 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets. He was picked right behind former UConn teammate, Marcus Williams who also went to the Nets. After the 2006 Pepsi Pro Summer League in Orlando, he underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and is expected to be out for 4-6 months.
