Joseph H. August

Joseph H. August (1890 - 1947) was an American cinematographer and co-founder of the American Society of Cinematographers. He died in 1947 after collapsing on the set of a film, Portrait of Jennie, for which he received a posthumous Academy Award nomination. It was his second - he had also been nominated in 1939 for Gunga Din.
