Joseph Gelineau

Joseph Gelineau (born 31 October 1920, Champ-sur-Layon, Maine-et-Loire) is a French Catholic priest and composer, mainly of Christian liturgical music.

A Jesuit since 1941, Gelineau studied theology at a Catholic seminary in Lyon and music in Paris.

Heavily influenced by Gregorian chant, Gelineau has composed numerous chants for the Taizé Community.
