Joseph Aoun

Joseph E. Aoun is the seventh president of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he took office on August 15, 2006.
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Aoun earned degrees at universities in Lebanon and France, and then received a Ph.D. from MIT's department of Linguistics and Philosophy in 1981. He was on the faculty of the University of Southern California (USC) since 1982 and served as Dean of the USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences for six years prior to his appointment at Northeastern.
