Jose María Egas

Jose María Egas is an Ecuadorian poet born in Manta, 1896-1982. He is considered a symbolist poet. His poetry is said to be very musical and is popular with the common man.[citation needed] Many of his poems were turned into the lyrics of "Pasillos".
