[edit] History
In the 19th century, the Jos Plateau was a refuge for populations, especially Christians, that wanted to escape the Jihad of the Fula people led by Usman dan Fodio in the north of Nigeria. After the British colonization, it became one of the most important tourist destinations of Nigeria, but this touristic activity was impeded in early 21th century by new fighting between the Christians and Muslims.
