José Luís Peixoto

José Luís Peixoto (born 1974, Galveias, Portalegre, Portugal), is a Portuguese writer. He has a degree in Languages and Modern Literature in English and German by the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (literally, New University of Lisbon). He has published poetry and prose and received the Prize Jovens Criadores (Young Creators) in the years of 1997, 1998 and 2000. In 2001, his romance "Nenhum Olhar" received the Literary Prize José Saramago. He is represented in various Portuguese and international prose and poetry anthologies. He is a collaborator of several publications. In 2005, he wrote the theatre plays "Anathema" (premiered in Theatre de la Bastille in Paris) and "À Manhã" (premiered in Teatro São Luiz, Lisbon. His romance have been published in France, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Finland, Holland, Spain, Czech Republic, Croatia, Belarus and Brazil. Editions for United Kingdom, Hungary and Japan are being prepared.
