José García Villa

José García Villa (1908-1997) Filipino poet, critic, painter, and short story writer. He founded Clay, a literary magazine in the University of New Mexico. He was also awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship in creative writing by Conrad Aiken.
Some of his works include the following:
- the erotic poetic series Man Songs (1929)
- the short story Mir-i-Nisa (1929)
- short stories Footnote to Youth
