Jorma Taccone
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jorma Taccone (born March 19th, 1977) is an [Italian Swedish]-American writer for Saturday Night Live and a member of The Lonely Island, a sketch comedy group that includes SNL featured player Andy Samberg and SNL writer Akiva Schaffer. Jorma created the beat as well as assisted in writing the SNL Digital Short Lazy Sunday.
Taccone auditioned as on-air talent for Saturday Night Live but was hired only as a writer[1]. However, he has appeared in many walk-on roles in the Digital Shorts as either a passerby or a dancer in a music video. He can also be seen in assorted live sketches on the show. As a result, while the 2005-2006 season continued, rumors began that Taccone would join the cast as a Featured Player in the 2006-2007 season. The rumor turned out to be false, but Taccone and Akiva Shaffer are still rumored to be Featured Players sometime in the future.
Taccone played the lead role of Brett in The Lonely Island's The 'Bu, the group's record-breaking contribution to Channel101 where he played a ninja who didn't belong. The 'Bu, a parody of The OC, also starred Sarah Chalke (Roseanne, Scrubs) as Melissa and Andy Samberg as Aaron. In the group's first Channel 101 show, "ITV Buzz Countdown," Taccone played Chris Hoffman, a fictional VJ on a parody of MTV's Total Request Live. He is currently filming Hot Rod, starring Samberg.
Taccone is named after guitarist Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane.[citation needed]
