[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Danny_Chad_1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Danny_Chad_1.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:CA3CC11U.png

Thanks for uploading Image:CA3CC11U.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

[edit] Station stubs

Your station stubs are now quite high quality. But one small thing - will you please use a lower case S on serves! Eg. Leuchars railway station serves ... -- 62.253.48.59 08:27, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Railway stations

Hi, thanks for categorising my railway station stubs properly. I was being lazy and putting them all under "Scotland" -- Gurch 19:07, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries

Please could always remember to provide an edit summary when making changes to articles. This is even more important when reverting another persons contributions - not explaining your reasons can lead to accusations of vandalism and/or edit wars. As an example you reverted my changes to template:UK Major Railway Stations without any edit summary, meaning I have no idea why you did it. Did you just not like it (best to comment on talk to see what other people think)? Was it against policy (link to it)? Has this been previously discussed somewhere (say so and link to it)? Alternatively it could have been done to spite me (I highly doubt it), as vandalism (again I doubt it but good contributors have been known to vandalise in moments of boredom), becuase you fancied an edit war (again unlikely, but it would releive boredom), or any other countless reasons.

Sometimes edit summaries need only be a few words ("typo"), ("spelling"), ("rv vandalism") but they shoudl be there. If the reason is complicated it is good to say ("see talk") to explain yourself better.

Sorry to go on at you but I really have no clue why you reverted my changes and I'm getting pissed off with a lot of editors (not just you) not using edit summaries. Thryduulf 16:24, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About Railway Stations

It is nice that you are creating new articles on stations. Just 2 notes:

  • the station name is almost always included in the first sentence as the start of the sentence and so serves should not begin with a capital S, as mentioned by someone above.
  • do not assume that every station serves a town. For example,

Audley End railway station serves the town of Audley End in Essex, and the nearby town of Saffron Walden.

From Audley End railway station. Just to note that Audley End is actually a famous manor nearby that holds special events. It is a local tourist attraction. It is in no way a town!!!

Daisy Hill railway station Serves the town of Daisy Hill in Bolton. Daisy hill is a suburb of the town of Westhoughton.

There are many other stations i could point out although this would be a long list.

I am not trying to be a critic as it is nice you have started these articles. This is just advice. Simply south 15:56, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Please note i actually wrote the messahe on the 20th but forgot to sign.

Hi, I'm just writing to also concur with the above sentiments..... it appears that the last message has not been effective as the same problems are still popping up from your edits!...
Please do not use a capital letter for serves in the railway articles - it just isn't wikipedia protocal nor is it grammatically correct!
Also, please don't assume a station serves a town by the same name. eg. Newhey and Milnrow are not towns, but you state that their respective stations serve towns by these names! Stations could serve other types of places, such as hamlets, villages, suburbs, districts, parishes, cities etc etc
These kind of edits could cause confusion for a student for example, who needs to know key facts for an essay, but is instead, misled! I'm sure you can understand the importance of this.
Thanks very much however for your contributions, other than these issues which have appeared on your talk page, please keep up the good work! Jhamez84 17:55, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ballymoney railway station

I want just to let you know, that Ballymoney railway station, article on which you had worked, has been [Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ballymoney railway station marked for deletion]. Regards, --Klemen Kocjancic 15:50, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Layton railway station.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Layton railway station.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] 21 September

Regarding recent creation of numerous empty pages and blanking from your talk page.

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. --ArmadilloFromHell 16:22, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ed Bruce

I nominated Ed Bruce for immediate deletion. The article had little if any content. Just a heads up. -ENIAC (Talk) (Current Projects) 16:23, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blanking talk page

Please do not remove legitimate warnings from your talk page or replace them with inappropriate content. Removing or maliciously altering warnings from your talk page will not remove them from the page history. You're welcome to archive your talk page, but be sure to provide a link to any deleted legitimate comments. [edit] Whitey Shafer, Ed Bruce, etc.

Please stop creating articles with no content. There's nothing there to indicate even who the person might be to expand upon them. At the very least, there needs to be some description of who the person is. Fan-1967 16:30, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Warning.

[edit] 100% English

A tag has been placed on 100% English, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to provide more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:100% English. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such material.Logical2u 20:46, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] UKrailwaystations tag

You are adding {{UKrailwaystations}} to many railway station articles. This is redundant since that alpha index is already in the box on the right. --ArmadilloFromHell 20:58, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stops

What is the Wikipedia policy on bus, train, light rail, streetcar and tram stops? Shall every stop in six continents have a Wikipedia article? Is there a policy? Hu 22:29, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Please do not be discouraged. I have placed a "ProD" (Proposed for Deletion) notice on each of the tram stop articles. I know it was a spot of work to produce the series of stop articles, but this kind of thing happens in Wikipedia. I've had it happen to me too. So, I applaud the impulse (to add knowledge to Wikipedia) and hope you will not be discouraged. Hu 08:43, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

So that you may comment if you wish, I am letting you know that I have proposed the Category for deletion: Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Log/2006_December_6#Category:Blackpool_Tramway_stops. Hu 12:54, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
