I'm a pretty novice Wikipedian. I only really joined to change one article on something about which I knew a little, and then decided to stay. My edit count is here. I'm studying medicine at the moment, and (touch wood) should become a fully-fledged doctor in just over a year. I have exams in January 2007 and hopefully Wikipedia can help in more ways than one - editing articles requires a good level of knowledge, which I can use to my advantage. For this reason I guess most of my edits will be medicine-related. If there's anything you think I can help with (unlikely I know) leave me a message on my talk page and I'll see what I can do.

I've just discovered userboxes too (as you may be able to tell from the list on the right!); I think they help add some personality to a user without giving too much away to any potential strange stalker-types. You can gauge quite a lot from them, but they don't give you everything - I like a bit of mystery ;)

[edit] Plans

  • Learn some medicine before January - maybe editing will help me do this!
  • I might have a crack at expanding siderosis

[edit] Favourtie links

  • whonamedit.com - brilliant site for the history and etymology of disease names; I could spend hours here
  • facebook.com - Most students should know this one
  • stumbleupon.com - great for when you're bored
  • emedicine.com - the repository of my medical knowledge
  • Oxford English Dictionary - I know people say that there's no such things as incorrect language, but I hate it when people don't use it properly.
